The airport is not actually located in Freetown. It's on the other side of a bay, which requires taking a ferry across. Since the ferry schedule is generally unreliable, this can be quite an adventure. When Rick and I arrived, we actually missed the last ferry and had to wait until the morning for the next one.
After 45 minutes on a ferry, they rapidly exited the craft.
